Frequently asked questions
Where are exported files saved?
Files are saved to the local location selected through your browser's download flow.
Is conversation content sent to the developer?
No. The extension processes the conversation needed for your export in the browser. The developer does not operate a backend that receives or stores conversation content.
Why does the extension need access to AI-service pages?
Access is used to display the export interface and read the current conversation only when you choose to export or sync it. Chrome shows the site-access scope requested by the installed extension version.
Which formats are supported?
PDF, Word, Markdown, Plain Text, JSON, and image files.
Do I need a GPT Exporter account?
No. GPT Exporter does not require a separate developer-operated account. A Notion connection is needed only if you choose to use Notion sync.
What happens when I sync to Notion?
Only the content you select is sent directly from your browser to the Notion workspace and destination you authorize. It does not pass through a developer-operated server. Content stored in Notion is governed by your workspace settings and Notion's policies.
Does the website use analytics or advertising services?
The website may use Google Analytics, Plausible, OpenPanel, Tawk.to, and, when enabled, Google AdSense. These services may process website technical and usage information, but they do not receive AI conversation content from the extension.
Disconnect Notion and remove synced content
- Open Notion and go to Settings, then open the area for Connections or connected applications.
- Locate GPT Exporter and disconnect or revoke its access.
- Delete any previously synced pages directly from your Notion workspace if you no longer want Notion to retain them.
Notion's interface may vary by plan and version. Workspace owners may also manage or revoke connections from workspace connection settings.
