1. Introduction
GPT Exporter is a browser extension for selecting, exporting, and organizing conversations from supported AI services. Depending on the feature you choose, it can create PDF, Word, Markdown, Plain Text, JSON, or image files, or send selected content directly to a Notion workspace that you authorize.
GPT Exporter does not require you to create or sign in to a separate developer-operated account.
Supported services may include ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Google AI experiences, Perplexity, NotebookLM, Kimi, Qwen, Doubao, Yuanbao, and other services identified in the extension interface and Chrome Web Store listing. The exact site access requested by an installed version is shown by Chrome and defined in that version's extension manifest.
GPT Exporter is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected with OpenAI, ChatGPT, Google, Gemini, Anthropic, Claude, DeepSeek, Notion, or the other supported services.
2. Information We Process
The extension may process, only as needed for a feature you request:
- AI conversation content you actively choose to export or sync.
- Your prompts and the AI service's responses.
- Conversation titles, message order, formatting, code, formulas, tables, images, attachments, timestamps, model information, and other structure supported by the selected output format.
- Identifiers for the current conversation or selected messages.
- Temporary authentication information required to access the current conversation or complete a user-authorized Notion operation.
- Locally saved export preferences, selected options, and privacy consent status.
- The Notion workspace, destination page, or database you select for a Notion sync.
Local processing means the extension accesses and transforms this information inside your browser. It does not mean the extension never handles user data. It means conversation content is not uploaded to a server operated by the developer for file generation.
Separately, the GPT Exporter website may use Google Analytics, Plausible, OpenPanel, Tawk.to, and, when enabled, Google AdSense. These website providers may process technical information such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device information, referring and visited pages, timestamps, interactions, outgoing-link events, advertising identifiers, cookies, or similar technologies. Website analytics and advertising tools do not receive AI conversation content or AI-service authentication information from the extension.
3. How We Use Information
Extension-processed information is used only to:
- Read the conversation or messages you actively choose.
- Generate the PDF, Word, Markdown, Plain Text, JSON, or image export you request entirely in your browser.
- Save the generated file to the local location you choose.
- Send selected content directly from your browser to your authorized Notion workspace when you explicitly use Notion sync.
- Remember local export preferences and consent status.
Website technical information is used to understand website usage, measure performance, diagnose problems, provide support, and, when enabled, display or measure advertising. AI conversation content is not used for analytics or advertising.
4. Authentication and Authorization Information
Some supported AI services require temporary authentication information to retrieve the conversation currently open in your browser. GPT Exporter may use a restricted same-origin request bridge in the page's MAIN world. Authentication information remains in an in-memory closure, is used only for the operation you request, is not sent to the extension Content Script, and is not persisted to localStorage, IndexedDB, Chrome Storage, or files. It disappears when the relevant page is refreshed or closed.
When you connect Notion, authorization information is used in browser memory to send the content you select directly to Notion. It is not sent to or stored by a developer-operated server. Requests to Notion necessarily include the authorization information required by Notion to perform the action you approved.
5. Local Storage and Retention
- File-export processing occurs in the browser; conversation content is not retained on a developer-operated server.
- Generated files remain in the local location you choose until you delete them.
- Authentication information is held temporarily in memory and is not persistently stored by the extension.
- Export preferences and privacy consent status may remain in Chrome Storage until you clear extension data or uninstall the extension.
- Content synced to Notion is retained in your Notion workspace under Notion's settings, retention rules, and privacy policy.
- Website analytics, support, and advertising providers retain technical information according to their configurations and respective privacy policies.
The developer does not operate a backend service that receives, generates, or stores AI conversation exports.
6. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell or rent AI conversation data. We do not share AI conversation data with advertisers or use it for personalized advertising, remarketing, or user profiling. The developer does not allow people to read conversation content processed by the extension.
Information may be transmitted only in these user-facing contexts:
- To the AI service currently being used, through requests necessary to read the conversation you choose to export.
- Directly to Notion when you explicitly authorize and initiate a Notion sync. Notion is an independent third party and processes the content under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Technical website-usage information to Google Analytics, Plausible, OpenPanel, Tawk.to, and, when enabled, Google AdSense. These providers are used by the website, not to process extension conversation exports.
- When required by applicable law or necessary to address security.
7. Data Security
GPT Exporter limits file-export processing to the browser, avoids developer-side storage of conversation exports, limits authentication information to temporary memory, and requires a user action before exporting or syncing content. No software system or transmission can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure. Protect access to your browser, device, AI-service accounts, Notion workspace, and exported files.
8. User Choices and Controls
You can:
- Decide whether to export or sync a conversation.
- Select which messages to include and which format to create.
- Choose the local destination for generated files.
- Choose the Notion workspace and destination for a sync.
- Decline privacy authorization or stop using a feature.
- Clear locally saved settings and consent status.
- Disconnect the Notion connection through Notion's connection settings and delete synced pages from your Notion workspace.
- Uninstall the extension to remove extension-managed local data.
- Use browser privacy controls, consent tools, or blocking settings to limit website analytics, advertising, and cookies where available.
Data-removal instructions are available on the Support page.
9. Chrome Extension Permissions
storage- Saves local export preferences, selected options, and privacy consent status.
scripting- Runs the export interface and restricted page-context request bridges on supported AI-service pages.
- Supported AI-service site access
- Displays export controls and reads the current conversation only on sites supported by the installed extension version. Chrome shows the requested site-access scope during installation and in the extension's Details page.
- Notion network access
- Sends only the content you actively choose to the Notion workspace and destination you authorize when you initiate a sync.
Permissions are used only for GPT Exporter's disclosed purpose: selecting, exporting, and user-directed organization of AI conversations.
10. Children's Privacy
GPT Exporter is not directed to children under the minimum age required to use the relevant AI service, Notion, or browser extension services in their jurisdiction. The developer does not knowingly collect children's conversation content through a developer-operated backend.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when supported services, permissions, integrations, website providers, or legal requirements change. If a change materially affects how the extension handles user data, users will be informed and asked for consent where required before the new practice begins. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version.
